"From the Beginning Till the Endless "

The play is the result of an intensive workshop in actor preparation, involving seven young men and women living in Jenin and its refugee camp. These participants shared their personal experiences and daily stories, reflecting the harsh realities they live through in the region. Each one carried their own story, emotions, and dreams, bringing the reality they experience to the stage, including military incursions, killing, destruction, and the stories of the Palestinian people in the 48 areas, as well as the genocide witnessed in Gaza.
The workshop focused on training these young people in acting and expression, where they presented a mix of personal tales that carry both a human and collective spirit, serving as a bridge for understanding the suffering of people in the face of wars and tragedies they endure. Through "From Beginning to Endless," these young actors showcased their ability to shed light on the broader Palestinian issues in an unconventional way, filled with emotion and personal experience.
The play is not just about individual suffering, but rather a collective narrative of stories filled with hope, resilience, and at the same time, it questions the future and the Palestinian destiny. The play reflects a complex life story that fluctuates between pain, loss, the hope for liberation, and the desire to change the present reality.

Stories Through Cameras

Fragments Theatre implemented the Stories Through Camera project, a capacity-building initiative aimed at empowering 17 young people from Jenin, surrounding cities in the West Bank, and Gaza. The project focused on teaching stop-motion animation and film editing techniques. The main goal was to provide a platform for these young people to express their own stories through the lens of a camera, helping them develop their creative and technical skills.
In addition to training the participants, the project aimed to foster a sense of ownership over their narratives. It encouraged them to explore personal and community stories, giving them the tools to become trainers and mentors within their communities. This way, the impact of the project extends beyond the participants themselves, allowing them to teach others and spread their newly acquired knowledge and skills.
Moreover, the project targeted four participants from Gaza, further promoting cross-regional exchange and collaboration. By bringing together youth from different areas, Fragments Theatre helped create a unique space for cinematic expression and community-building, while also contributing to the enhancement of cinema culture in Jenin and surrounding areas.
The young filmmakers are now equipped not only to tell their own stories but also to work with children in their communities, teaching them the art of stop-motion and film editing. This will help inspire and develop a new generation of filmmakers, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression across the region.

Visual Narrative " Jenin Through the Lens
Visual Narratives: Jenin Through the Lens" Visual Storytelling Workshop
In collaboration with Fragments Theatre in Jenin, Palestine, we implemented this empowering program, inviting participants to embark on a creative journey through the art of photography and visual storytelling. Using their cameras or phones, they captured the essence of life in Jenin, discovering how their unique perspectives could be transformed into powerful visual narratives.
Workshop Overview:
The workshop was designed to equip participants with foundational knowledge of photography, focusing on key elements such as light and composition. By gaining control over their cameras, participants learned how to translate their personal viewpoints into captivating images, exploring the potential of visual storytelling.
Freedom of Expression:

Participants had the freedom to choose the subjects that resonated most with them. Whether focusing on family, friends, the environment, historical archives, or personal reflections, the goal was not to create a competition but to foster belief in the importance of each participant’s story. Every narrative held value, and the workshop encouraged participants to embrace their unique perspectives.
Story Sequencing:
A crucial element of the workshop was exploring how sequencing images could enhance a story. Participants experimented with arranging their photographs in a way that built a narrative, allowing their stories to unfold in a sequence that deepened the emotional impact and meaning of their work.
Collective Exhibition:
The culmination of the workshop was a collective exhibition that showcased the participants' work. While the exhibition’s exact location was yet to be determined, it served as an important platform for the students to share their stories with the wider community, creating a sense of pride and accomplishment. This event celebrated the creativity and personal narratives of the participants, offering them the opportunity to contribute to the cultural fabric of Jenin.
